Kicking off the Antarctic season 2026-27 // Auftakt der Antarktis-Saison 2026/27
EN: So excited to be heading back to Antarctica with Polar Latitudes Expeditions in just a few days. My 9th season, can you believe it?!🐧❄️
The vastness of the glacial landscape, and all the wildlife thriving within it, never ceases to fascinate me. This year, though, I’m especially excited about a new role: Staff Development Coordinator. I’ll be stepping back slightly from the guest-facing side — as a marine biology lecturer and citizen science coordinator — to focus on training and mentoring our wonderful onboard team.
I can’t wait to watch us grow together as a team, while giving our guests a life-changing experience at the end of the world.🐋
DE: Ich freue mich riesig, dass es in wenigen Tagen mit Polar Latitudes Expeditions zurück in die Antarktis geht. Es ist bereits meine 9. Saison – kaum zu glauben, oder?! 🐧❄️
Die Weite der Gletscherlandschaft und die dort lebende Tierwelt faszinieren mich immer wieder aufs Neue. Dieses Jahr gibt es jedoch eine Besonderheit: Ich übernehme eine neue Rolle – als „Staff Development Coordinator“ (Koordinatorin für Personalentwicklung). Ich werde mich etwas aus dem direkten Gästekontakt zurückziehen – in dem ich bisher als Dozentin für Meeresbiologie und Koordinatorin für „Citizen Science“-Projekte tätig war –, um mich stattdessen auf die Schulung und das Mentoring unseres großartigen Teams an Bord zu konzentrieren.
Ich bin schon sehr gespannt darauf, wie wir als Team weiter zusammenwachsen – und wie wir unseren Gästen am Ende der Welt ein unvergessliches, lebensveränderndes Erlebnis bieten können. 🐋
